秋田犬ってどんな犬？

　正式名称は「あきたいぬ」 です。
　 外国では秋田犬を「Akita inu」または「Akita」 と呼び、「Akita Ken」 とは呼びません。

The formal nomenclature is "AKITA-INU".

　本当です。
　 昭和12年7月ごろにヘレンケラー女史が秋田に来られ、秋田犬を希望したことから、 秋田市の小笠原一郎氏（後の秋田犬保存副会長）が大館生まれの神風号を同年の8月に送りました。 しかし、残念ながらジステンバーで神風号は亡くなってしまいました。 その後も強く秋田犬を希望するヘレンケラー女史に、 神風号のお兄さんである犬剣山号が昭和14年7月に送られました。

Ichiro Ogasawara (the following Akita dog preservation sub-chairman) in Akita City sent KAMIKAZE GO of the Odate birth from being able to come to Akita by Ms. Keller Helen in around July, 1937, and the hope for the Akita dog in August of the same year.However, KAMIKAZE GO has died to our regret in Gestembar.Elder brother  ***GO of KAMIKAZE GO was sent to Ms. Keller Helen who hoped for the Akita dog strongly afterwards in July, 1939.

　　　　
八幡平の武家屋敷・渡辺家の裏山に桂の大樹があった。その根元の洞窟で戦後、 秋田犬の祖となった犬が誕生しました。
